Go Bananas this Fairtrade Fortnight Feb 25th– March 10th

Indulge yourself this Fairtrade Fortnight, with a series of gastronomic events from Sustainable Wales and SUSSED. All Welcome.
SUSSED Café open all fortnight.
Sustainable Wales are delighted to welcome international guest Sandra Joseph, a Fairtrade banana producer from Saint Lucia, on Wednesday, March 6th (1pm). Sandra will give a short presentation on how Fairtrade has affected her life, family and community. Expect to go bananas with banana cake and other banana-based treats. Even Sustainable Wales’ ‘Smoothie Bike’ will be making an appearance, dishing out deliciously fun banana smoothies.

Porthcawl’s most exciting cake-baking competition and ‘all you can eat’ glutton-fest is back on Saturday, March 9th. If you intend to enter please bring your Fairtrade cake/s at 10.30am - opening to public tasting at 11am. Entry is free to bakers, £2.95 to adults and £1.50 to children. Will you be the one to knock the twice-crowned ‘Bake-off King’ off his sugary throne?

A selection of free Fairtrade coffee, tea and chocolate will be available at SUSSED throughout Fairtrade Fortnight. Pop into the SUSSED Café and taste the Fairtrade goodness for yourself.

All events will take place in The Green Room (above SUSSED, 4 – 5 James Street, Porthcawl), with proceeds going to Sustainable Wales
